Duke 89, UNC 78

Not much you can do when you've lost Ty Lawson and Ellington and Green go a combined 4 for 24 from the field. Playing this Duke team is a lot like being the proverbial frog on a slow boil - which isn't scientifically accurate, by the way - you didn't feel like the were outplaying Carolina, and yet they kept that eight to ten point lead for much of the game. Even with a minute to play and UNC down five, I thought the Heels had the game in hand, but as well as the defense played (Greg Paulus hot hand aside), the shots just didn't fall.

I somehow don't think Duke will fair as well in March.

Excuses...
What game were you watching?? Duke flat out hands down played better than UNC the entire game. Duke led practically the whole time. It is sad that for such a supposedly "deep bench" team that UNC fans blame the loss on missing Lawson. When great teams are missing key players the other members of that TEAM rise to the challenge and overcome the situation. The only team that is worried about March is Carolina because they got exposed. UNC has only played two teams who were in the Top 25 all year. The first one was against Clemson who is no longer ranked. The second game was Duke and we all know what happened.
 Weak schedule. Weak excuses.

Duke/UNC
First I want everyone to remember that Maryland beat UNC with Lawson playing.
Second NOT defending the 3s against Duke is unforgiveable.
