Dean Dome Visit

Im visiting the Dean Dome this Saturday vs. Boston College, to do a review for my site. I was wondering where I should eat, what I should see on campus, and what I should do in Chapel Hill? Also, any other things you would like to see on the review. I'd like to go to Carmichael Arena, is it open on game days? Im really excited for the review and cant wait to get into the Dean Dome.

Thanks!

Bunting to Pitt?

Lots of talk regarding Coach John Bunting to Pitt, especially on Twitter.

While the whole Todd Graham thing was definitely a fiasco (can't believe that that guy took yet another new job after coming to Pitt for just one year), moving to Bunting seems like a rushed move to me. He's a good guy and all but it seems like Pitt should be able to do better.

Bunting back in the ACC? Wow.

? about finding a ticket

My son is being recruited for Lacrosse by a couple of the NC schools and we are going to be in the UNC area on the 10th, I would like to take him to the game vs Long Beach St but won't know for certain we can make it until the afternoon of the game. We will be visiting the campus on the 11th but it would be fun to give him a UNC "experience" before the actual tour.

Is it possible to scalp tickets outside just prior to the game?

Tough Loss to Take

Roy Williams proves once again that he is not a very good coach. He cannot win big games that are even relatively close. Soreless for over 5 minutes in the crucial moments of the second half? Look who he had on the floor! It is not rocket science Roy! Get P.J. Hairston and Reggie Bullock on the floor! Step up and own this loss Roy, this one is on you. Memo to John Henson: Stop trying to be the prolific scorer that you are not and never will be, get the ball to your shooters, please. Oh yeah, and to you and your buddy Dexter, those missed dunks, not to mention the countless other mistakes the two of you made, cost your team the game today.

UNC is a Top Destination According to ESPN

According to Brock Huard of ESPN, UNC is the top available job in college football right now. Let's look at his criteria for selecting a school.

As I set out to rank the best available job openings based on desirability to potential hires, I asked a handful of current and former collegiate coaches and ESPN analysts to get their opinions, accounting for eight factors: facilities, tradition, committed administration and boosters, coaching staff budget, captive local population, livability, centralized recruiting base and current talent level.

Now let's see what he has to say about Carolina...

"Pep Up The Heels"

If the program does not retain Everett Withers Then I want Pep Hamilton from Stanford.

He is a NC guy from Charlotte.
He runs a run first pro-style Offense.

With Our O-linemen and Geo we are set up for the Running Game.

He is young but that means he could grow with the program.

If we miss out on him now it could bite us later.

if someone has the ear of New AD "Bubba" Cunningham......Then pass this idea on to Him.

Like I said If the program does not retain Coach Withers Then We need to "Pep Up The Heels"

Go Heels!!!  Let's "Pep it Up"

The Tarheels are the Oklahoma Sooners (Football) of College Basketball

October 15th...  Usually by this time, the college football landscape has narrowed down its championship contenders.  But a new hope also arises across campuses nationwide.  College Basketball. Universities begin their seasons with "Midnight Madness", wasting no time on getting started on another potential March Madness run.

Between now and October 15th, I will unleash the college basketball favorites along with their college football contender "doppleganger".  Up first?  My odds-on favorite to cut down the nets in New Orleans...

UNC Recruitment: 7-Footer Kaleb Tarczewski Update

Five-star center recruit Kaleb Tarczewski still hasn't committed to one of the final four schools on his target list.  But he is getting close.

"I'm ready, I'm ready," Tarczewski said in an exclusive Scout.com interview. "It's been a long process and it will be a relief to get it over with. I'm getting close. I'll go home, sit down with my family and circle and get everything decided hopefully before school starts. If not, then hopefully a few weeks into school."

Tarczewski is the No. 5 ranked center in the class of 2012, according to Scout.com, and has long had Kentucky, Arizona, North Carolina and Kansas as his finalist schools.  But even though it's been narrowed down to those four since late June, Tarczewski has definitely taken his time in finding the best fit for him.

"I have some really good schools and I want to make a good decision," Tarczewski said in the Scout.com interview. "It's going to be one of the biggest decisions of my life and I want to make the right decision and make sure it's where I'm going to be happiest."

Kentucky started on Tarczewski later than the other three schools and has yet to seal any commitments from the 2012 class.  Tarczewski said Head Coach John Calipari seems like a really good guy and that UK speaks for itself about basketball, especially in regards to their great fan support, but added little else about the prospective school.

Arizona already has commitments from 4-star C Grant Jerrett, who Scout.com lists as the 10th-ranked center in the 2012 class, and 4-star, 13th-ranked PG Gabe York.  Tarczewski speaks highly of each school, but by reading in between the lines, one could conclude that Kansas and North Carolina are his front-runners, with Arizona right there with them.

Tarczewski speaks highly of the Arizona coaching staff and the incoming recruits, saying that UA is "really developing their program."  And I'm sure head coach Sean Miller would love Tarczewski as a building block to that development.

North Carolina also came on the recruiting trail of Tarczewski's a little later than they probably would have liked.  Tarczewski said in a June interview that it did hurt UNC's chances a little bit (since he had already developed close ties to a couple other schools), but added that they had done a really good job with catching up.

Tarczewski admitted that he knows UNC needs a big man and that he "could definitely fit in" at UNC.  He also hit it off very well with head coach Roy Williams.

"I like that he’ll tell you how he (Williams) feels," Tarczewski said in another exclusive Scout.com interview. "Which is very important because if you go away to a school and you’re away from you family you want people you can trust and are like family to you. I think he’s a great guy and he’s definitely someone that I could see me playing for," Tarczewski said.

With commitments from Scout.com's top-rated PG Marcus Paige, and No. 17 ranked SF J.P. Tokoto, like Arizona, UNC already has a solid core of talent that would only further complement a commitment from Tarczewski.

Kansas is arguably the top prospect for Tarczewski if for no other reason than the fact that they've been after him the longest.  Tarczewski has taken four visits to Kansas and has subsequently become very close with the coaching staff and has found his potential fit within the program.

"I love the coaching staff," Tarczewski said in the Scout.com interview.  "They have been on me the longest so I really feel comfortable with them.  My AAU point guard from last year, Naadir Tharpe, is there and he's a great kid and he's kind of a Gabe York kind of player, he makes the game much easier for the bigs."

So Tarczewski already has a strong bond with the KU coaching staff, a point guard who he's already played with and trusts, and a comfort level with calling Lawrence, Kansas home.  It appears to be a match made in heaven.

But at least one of the other three aforementioned schools has something about them to have drawn out Tarczewski's decision this long.  Something about them that just may be the underlying factor in where Tarczewski ends up.

"It's definitely has gone up and down but the best school will come out on top," Tarczewski concluded in his interview with Scout.com.
