Henson Not Guarding Singler
Despite what I was thinking. David Wear draws Singler, and Henson Mason Plumlee.
Henson May Be Overemphasizing Blocks
But he’s still getting some key rebounds, and Duke’s interior offense doesn’t know what to do.
How This Is Different from the Maryland Game
That end-of-the-half Drew layup would have never happened. No way you would have gotten that many bodies to hit the floor after that ball.
But we didn't have anyone hitting the floor on the other end on the previous possession
We still have too many guys going for the gravy instead of taking care of the fundamentals. Too many guys trying to block shots and not getting in place for rebounds. What does it matter that you get a lot of blocks if the other team kicks your butt getting rebound?

The Missed Rebounds Were Killing Me
Henson at least seems to have another big man underneath when he goes for the block, but Davis will go for one and leave three navy jerseys alone under the hoop.
Just another in a long line
Teams out rebound us like our tallest player was 6’5"

Graves is playing pretty well at both ends of the court
Henson doing pretty well, except for tossing up a couple of air balls. Drew and Strickland playing better (but still need to do better). Deon doing OK. Ed should be getting more bench time.

Case in point
Ed goes for the block on Sheyer, but gives up the rebound and Duke scores. If he got in position for the rebound we probably get the ball without Sheyer getting a second chance.

Ginyard Has All Five of UNC's Second Half Points
And the rest of the team is deferring to him. He’s building off the Maryland game.
That was the first game where I thought he looked like the guy we saw before his injury last year
Not just because he was hitting shots, but he seemed more explosive. He seems to be that way today as well. That dunk in the first half was not something that he would have done earlier this year.

Compare His Steal of the Zoubek Pass
To no Duke player coming down to take Thompson on his dunk. That’s the one thing Ginyard never lost even at his worst this season.
But I think he's moving better and getting more into the passing lanes
and getting some steals. It’s not effort, he seems to be moving quicker.

SIT ED DAVIS
He lets Duke get three chances at the other end and then gives up the ball. Sit him and hope he goes pro. I’m done with him.

Who's been guarding Smith tonight?
Has Drew been handling him all game? If so he’s done a heck of a job.

Yeah, he's definitely on Sheyer
It makes sense it would be him and let Graves take Singler.

It's Almost Like Larry Drew Heard Raycom Sports Calling Him Out
He’s just been playing with a fury since Smith got a couple of buckets.
Pretty pleased with the effort of most of the team
I’d still like to see guys working to get the rebound instead of selling out to get a block.

Nice to see us have numbers on a break

Wonderful, plenty of blocks but no one there to get the ball back

I'm used to seeing us missed FTs this year, but what's up with Duke missing them?

I don't remember what Ed's FT % was last year, but I gotta thinks it's a lot lower now

I can't fault Graves, he made a hell of a play to get his hands on that rebound
I’m not sure he really could have done a lot more with it than try to put it back in.

Deer in the headlights
Call it done.

Has McDonald even seen the floor tonight?

Speak of the devil
Games over and we finally see McDonald

I think tonight we've seen the zenith of the Heels effort
it’s all downhill from here.
