Tree Where Dean Smith Was Hung in Effigy in Danger of Removal
A little late in getting to this, but the Willow Oak tree outside of Woollen Gym is half-dead from the surrounding construction.

"Half-dead from the surrounding construction" describes whole swathes of campus at any given time.
I always thought it would have been funny to do a student television bit about kids waking up and finding their dorm surrounded by the dreaded green construction fences, locking them in indefinitely.
It ends in an armbar or a strangle regardless.
