No Word on Lawson, Ellington

I'm not sure where people go the idea that folks announce their decision to go pro at the team banquet, because in the years I've been following this, no one has ever announced anything at the team banquet. That streak continues, as the team banquet was held last night and nothing was said. There was just a whole mess of awards awarded,  and a good time was had by all.

Draft declarations are due b April 26th; expect announcements closer to that date than sooner. In the meantime, enjoy this in-depth scouting report from a reputable news organization:

I think most Tarheel fans such as myself.....

expect both of them to turn pro. As much as I have enjoyed both of them and would LOVE for both of them to come back, they really cant do much more than they already have. Good luck to both of them and thanks for the great memories!

I Agree

In my uneducated opinion, I don’t think Lawson gains anything by coming back. He’s had injuries in the last two seasons and already has a stellar national championship and the Cousy under his belt. Ellington might be able to improve his draft status with a stellar senior year, but he’s already MOP of the torunament, so I don’t think there’s much upside to staying. Unless they want to go the Hansbrough route and stay because they really love college in Chapel Hill, they’ll probably declare.
