BCS Passes Over Texas, Picks 6-6 Florida State

In a shocking turn of events, John Swofford announced today that the Bowl Championship Series would not select undefeated Texas for the championship game, instead opting for Florida State. "After listening to the argument the Gator Bowl was making," Swofford said, "we decided that Bobby Bowden deserved a larger stage on which to play his final game. They were just a natural fit for the Championship game."

Approximately thirty-three NCAA rules would have to be bent, broken, or contravened to put FSU in the title game, but Swofford seemed unconcerned. "Football fans have come to expect the best match-up as determined by arcane and byzantine factors, and a true champion cannot be judged without taking into account a full thirty-four years of performance." In a further effort to give the fans what they want, Florida State's quarterback will be replaced by University of Florida senior Tim Tebow. "The entire season has been predicated on a repeat performance by Tim Tebow in the national championship. To deny the fans this simply because events on the field did not conform to the predetermined narrative would go against the fine tradition of college football."

The Tebow-led Seminoles will face undefeated SEC champion Alabama, unless Joe Paterno decides to retire in the next month, in which case the Crimson Tide would be relegated to the Sugar Bowl in favor of Penn State.

Get over it. Bowls pick teams based on T.V. ratings and tickets sold. The Gator Bowl matchup makes for great drama and it will most likely be an exciting offensive scorefest. BTW, didn’t Florida State humiliate y’all with a stirring fourth quarter comeback not to long ago??

3rd Quarter

It was the 3rd quarter ass. But yeah I’m over it, while J-Ville won’t do the hotel numbers they would have done with Miami or even Clemson they’ll sell out the stadium.

Also I’m sure the TV audience will tune in for the Bowden retirement angle more so than the former school WVU vs legacy school FSU for Bowden. Has the makings of a scoringfest if EJ Manuel can get his feet underneath him.

Not gonna lie, my city will make bank with the Heels coming back.

I do believe the onslaught started with about 25 mins left in the game, but wasn’t it like less than a minute when FSU finally got the lead? Not to worry, your underclass defenders will probably be much more successful next year at the next level.

Underclassmen

Right now Austin’s the only underclassmen leaving. I expect Burney and Williams to test the waters but Carter has already decided to come back.

Don’t lie though, you’d like to have that defense you saw in the first half haha.

Now that they got their bowl game, I think the Criminoles should be worrying about how to stop Noel Devine. He may go off on them …

Gator Bowl

Did you see how fast the Gator Bowl sold out? Better yet, look at the price for tickets on Ebay. Plus, have you seen the recruits who have committed to the "Noles since Bobby retired? IT FEELS GOOD TO BE A NOLE!! Like de ja vou all over again!!!!!!!!!!

It's Probably Worth Pointing Out

…that feeling good about being a ’Nole corresponds completely with the football team not being on the field.

(I’m sure you guys will return to prominence. And I’m sure the Gator Bowl will be a wonderful exhibition to the legacy of Bobby Bowden. But as a football game, I’m not expecting much.)

Turn Down The Hate

You guys need to go find something else to hate on. . . Try a non-conference member or Osama Bin Laden. Otherwise you’re gonna blow a gasket. . .Now I understand your frustration — you want to beat the Noles while you can (you are well aware Fisher will have them “punk slapping” the Tar Heels and Tobacco Road again by as early as next year and you want momma to hold them down so you can beat them now). But for crying out loud, show some class.
