A Little Historical Perspective

So UNC won last night 44-12, a thirty-two point margin of victory.

If you didn't happen to catch the game, you may want to go reread that last sentence. UNC won by thirty-two points. I understand if you need a minute to process this. I'm here to help.

The last time UNC won by 32: November 11, 2001, when the Heels beat Duke 52-17.

The last time UNC won by 32 not against Duke, because really, now: October 20th, 2001, over Clemson, 38-3. They also beat FSU 41-9 earlier that year. Bunting was good, once.

Teams that have beaten UNC by 30+ points in that time, and their final rank:

Date Team Final Score
9/14/02 #6 Texas 52-12
10/26/02 Wake Forest 31-0
11/2/02 #13 Maryland 59-7
11/9/02 Clemson 42-12
8/30/03 #11 Florida State 37-0
11/1/03 #17 Maryland 59-21
9/11/04 #23 Virginia 56-24
9/25/04 #6 Louisville 34-0
10/16/04 #4 Utah 46-16
10/8/05 #19 Louisville 69-14
9/23/06 Clemson 52-7
